Testimonials

“Dr. Herring is compassionate, ethical, and thorough in her patient care. I have observed her efficient & meticulous work ethic. I would absolutely refer patients & my own family members to her practice”

Sam Holmes, Utilization Review

“As a therapist, I worked with Dr. Herring in an adolescent residential setting. She is very personable and kind. She was very attuned to the needs of the patients and was always willing to listen to what they had to say. She was available to speak with parents to address any concerns they had and helped provide additional explanation to all clinical decisions. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who is seeking psychiatric services for medication management.”

Megan Driezen, LPC

“I had the privilege of working with Dr. Herring for 10 years. She truly cares about her clients and their families. Dr. Herring is dedicated to providing compassionate care and best treatment options available.”

Shannon Lagers, RMA

“I worked along side Dr. Chariny Herring as her case manager for 8 years. She has always treated her patients with compassion and offers a superior level of expertise in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy. Dr. Herring focuses on patient needs and prescribes medication carefully. She understands that medications are not always necessary and makes appropriate recommendations for other beneficial methods of treatment. When medications are needed she monitors her patients closely and makes adjustments accordingly. Dr. Herring talks with her patients and not at them allowing for a collaborative relationship. I highly recommend Dr. Chariny Herring as your child’s mental health professional.”

Jennifer Gasperich, Case Manager

“Working with Dr. Chariny Herring in an inpatient psychiatric setting gave me the opportunity to witness the extraordinary compassion, patience, and diligence she demonstrates in caring for clients.

Clients and their families praise her clinical judgment in making psychiatric diagnoses, evaluating treatment needs, and prescribing appropriate medications. I have already referred families to Dr. Herring’s new practice because I trust and respect her professional expertise and bedside manner, and truly believe clients will benefit from her efforts to help them achieve optimal mental health.”

Why does TFPW ask me to complete a patient screener?

Psychiatric care comes in a range from the highest level of care ( inpatient hospitalization) to the least intensive (outpatient private practice appointments).  In between these 2 ends are several other options that provide various levels of care such as community mental health centers, academic centers, wrap around services, intensive outpatient services/partial hospitalization. Often times, complex psychiatric illness including but not limited to substance use, severe mental illness resulting in frequent crisis situations, legal involvement or child welfare involvement are better served by organizations offering a full spectrum of treatment options. Services like collaborative talk therapy, treatment team meetings, pharmacy assistance, insurance navigation, case management, and  community resource connections are services that can be provided at larger organizations, but typically cannot be provided at small private practices.

Our goal is to match your unique needs with the most appropriate and beneficial level of care resulting in the best possible outcome.
After reviewing your information, if it is determined that we are unable to meet your treatment needs,  we will be happy to connect you with some local resources to get you pointed in the right direction.
